Nusa Penida is a new icon of a tourist destination now on Bali island, because the island saves a variety of fascinating natural beauty that had not been widely explored by travelers.
Therefore, if you want to experience a different atmosphere and the blue sea sensation while on vacation in Bali, try to visit Nusa Penida. In the southeast, Nusa Penida was separated from Bali. Their position is lined with the islands of Bali and Lombok, as well as with small islands surrounding Nusa Penida, they are Nusa Ceningan Island and Nusa Lembongan Island.
Not only does Nusa Penida provide magnificent scenic views and beautiful beaches, but it also holds other interesting holiday destinations such as underwater travel with its underwater beauty.
Atuh Beach
Atuh Beach or Pantai Atuh is a hidden beach on the remote southeast coast of Nusa Penida island. This beach is surrounded by magnificent green cliffs, while various limestone formations surround it, adding to the beauty of the area. The white sand beach itself can be accessed through specially constructed stairs, or you can try narrow tracks along the steep cliff surface if you feel like adventuring. This beach is great for relaxing with spectacular panoramas. However, the beaches cannot swim.
Diamond Beach
The charm of Nusa Penida Island in Bali is endless. Various interesting natural tourist destinations can be found here. One of them, Atuh Beach, is a white sand beach that has been visited by many domestic and foreign tourists. But if you visit Atuh Beach, don’t forget to stop by the beach which is located not far from there called Diamond Beach. Diamond Beach is in one area with Atuh Beach.
As the name implies, Diamond Beach offers a view of karst cliffs with tapered shapes resembling gems. To reach this white sandy beach, you have to go down a stone staircase that has been equipped with a safety fence.
Bukit Teletubies
Nusa Penida is full of amazing and unique sights, but this one is slightly different from anything the island has to offer. Teletubby Hill is a group of large round hills in the middle of the island named after a background view of the Teletubbies children’s event.
After spending this place for several years now, I finally decided to stop by here last week and check it out. The official name of the point of view is Teletubbies Hill, but sometimes it is called the name Indonesia, Bukit Teletubbies, which has the same meaning.
The key to enjoying this perspective is to come here during or just after the rainy season, between December and March (approximately). April may be green too, but I can’t say for sure.
If you come here in the rainy season, the hills will be the perfect green. During other months, the hills will dry and brown, so they won’t look good.
After all, there was a gentle breeze on the hilltop and it was a quiet place to hang out engrossed.
Kelingking Beach
Kelingking Beach locally known as Pantai Kelingking is one of the most iconic tourist attractions and is known on all Nusa islands.
TripAdvisor has just released Travelers’ Choice Awards 2019, and Kelingking Beach is ranked # 2 of the 25 best beaches in Asia and ranked # 19 of the 25 best beaches in the World.
This hidden beach is located in the village of Bunga Mekar, on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida Island, which can be accessed via 40 to 50 minutes boat ride from Sanur.
The amazing hidden beach is framed by cliffs that soar high, steep, turquoise waters further embraced by fine white sand with the most amazing scenery like heaven on earth.
The secluded beach itself descends a 400 m high hillside, however, the sight of Pinkie is arguably more popular than the beach itself.
From this point of view, visitors look down on the white sand covered by the famous limestone cape that reaches into the Indian Ocean.
Kelingking Beach is the main destination on Nusa Penida Island. However, visiting the Pinkie perspective is one of the most famous things to do in Bali.
Broken Beach
Pasih Uug or known as Broken Beach is one of the most beautiful and most visited destinations on Nusa Penida Island.
Uniqueness, calm and extraordinary scenery, which is a great place for travel photographers and scenic seekers.
Where there is a range of cliffs as high as 50-200 meters. The cliff is circular and the center forms a hole like a cave or a sea tunnel. Seawater seemed trapped in the middle of a cliff which made it look like a large pond.
Broken Beach (Pasih Uug) has a large natural pool, about a hundred meters in diameter, created by abrasion of the sea and limestone hills that collapsed millions of years ago. This hole has a diameter of 98 meters and offers a unique and beautiful view.
Incredible scenery like heaven on earth where in the middle of the cliffs are circular holes and tunnels that penetrate directly into the sea, with stunning sea and cliff views.
Angel’s Billabong Beach
Angel’s Billabong Beach is another popular tourist spot on Nusa Penida with a natural infinity pool framed by rock cliffs and hanging over the ocean overlooking Manta Point Beach.
Located near Pasih Uug (Broken Beach), another popular site with unique limestone formations. The naturally formed stone lagoon offers beautiful sea views.
With an emerald hue and crystal water, Angel’s Billabong is a stunning natural beach pool.
Crystal Bay
Nusa Penida Island is no doubt has many natural hidden beauty places, Crystal Bay or often called Penida beach is one of them to become a popular tourist attraction in Nusa Penida. Crystal Bay is located in Penida beach, in Banjar Penida, Sakti Village. It’s approximately 15 kilometers drive from the nearest harbor in Banjar Nyuh or 40 minutes drive from Sampalan.
Crystal Bay has a beautiful white sandy beach and clear sea water which is surrounded by natural green hilly, so made this beach is most visited by tourist who comes to Nusa Penida.
There is a small coral island (atoll) about 50 meters from the Penida shore, called Batu Mejineng, on the top of the atoll there is a Hindu temple namely Pura Batu Mejineng. The uniqueness of the small atoll is to become a natural protector to Penida beach from a huge ocean waves, so the shore would be safe from the beach aberration damage.
The Crystal bay is apparently offering many tourist activities from a stroll down to the beach, to swimming, snorkeling, and diving. We saw much busy speed boat in the Penida beach area every day, the tour operator likely offers underwater activities, because many of them want to snorkel and diving to see colorful coral and various coral fishes, and if they are lucky, they will see the gigantic ocean sunfish (mola).
If the visitors want to see the overall Crystal Bay scenic from a height, visitors can climb up the hill to the west of the coast past hundreds of permanently made staircases. From the above visitors will be amazed by the view of Crystal Bay thoroughly and see the fascinating small island of Batu Mejineng, and just behind the atoll, clearly visible Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan Island are only separated by a narrow Ceningan island strait.
